A Musical Garden Party Benefiting The Reston Chorale

You're invited to an exclusive Garden Party in the beautifully redesigned residential garden of Laurie and Michael Barber in Reston, Virginia.

Join us on Saturday, June 7 from 2-5 pm for an afternoon of musical entertainment provided by Tordis Fahringer and David Lang, wine and light refreshments, as well as beautiful garden surroundings, all benefiting The Reston Chorale. Tickets are limited to the first 50 guests.

ABOUT THE GARDEN
This lovely garden has undergone quite a transformation since the summer of 2023. With the desire to make gardening easier, the Barbers worked with Hidden Lane Residential Landscape Designer Anthony Piselli to create an outdoor living space that is both practical and beautiful. Where an arbor and fish pond once dominated the backyard, a gazebo and fountain now offer a place to relax and enjoy conversation and serene surroundings. In the once-sloping yard, a level, circular path winds along beds of perennials and annuals, including a shade garden, a butterfly garden, blueberry bushes and even a raised-bed herb and vegetable garden. While many trees were preserved – including a mature pecan tree, plus filbert, magnolia, redbud, crepe myrtle and holly trees – the transformation also involved removing several large, diseased trees. Now, sunshine reaches newly installed solar panels on the roof, providing savings on utility bills.

2025 PERENNIAL PLANT OF THE YEAR
Garden enthusiasts can add the 2025 Perennial Plant of the Year to their garden. Clustered Mountainmint (Pycnanthemum muticum) will be available for purchase in the garden for $10 each. Thanks to a generous donation from Hidden Lane Residential Landscapes, all proceeds will benefit The Reston Chorale.
