Enjoy the sights and sounds of six beautiful residential gardens in Reston.

Gardens of Note is a self-guided tour of six beautiful private gardens in Reston, Virginia, with pop-up musical performances provided by members and friends of The Reston Chorale.

Combining two of the joys of life, gardens and music, Gardens of Note offers exclusive tours of notable residential gardens throughout Reston. The event is presented by The Reston Chorale, in partnership with The Reston Garden Club.

Garden addresses are listed below. The gardens are listed north to south. Gardens of Note tour signs will be placed in the vicinity of and at the entrance to each property:

  • BLOOM GARDEN - 1658 Wainwright Drive, Reston, VA 20190
    KRAUS GARDEN, 1656 Wainwright Drive, Reston, VA 20190

    The gardens are at adjacent, end-unit townhomes within Coleson Cluster. Park on the Wainwright Drive or North Shore Drive and walk into Coleson Cluster. You may drive in to drop off passengers.
  • CAMUS-MAPAR GARDEN, 2030 Upper Lake Drive, Reston, VA 20191
    Park on Upper Lake Drive.
  • RIDER GARDEN 12206 Quorn Lane, Reston, VA 20191
    From Colts Neck Road, turn south onto Quorn Lane. Quorn will then split into a U. Turn left. Park on Quorn Lane. The garden is on your left..
  • FLICKINGER GARDEN, 12003 Whip Road, Reston, VA 20191
    FERRARA GARDEN, 12007 Whip Road, Reston, VA 20191

    Park on Whip Road, Steeplechase Drive or Fowlers Lane. The Flickinger garden is mid-way between Steeplechase and Fowlers Lane. The Ferrara Garden is at the corner of Whip Road and Steeplechase

HOW TO LOCATE GARDENS

GPS may be disrupted this weekend, due to the powerful solar storm currently taking place.

As a backup, you can download a set of maps showing how to navigate between gardens, as well as the Fairfax County Parkway and gardens furthest north and south.

TICKETS

Tickets are $25 on the day of event. Tickets may be purchased online through May 11 or in the gardens on the day of the event. (Ticket purchasers will receive garden addresses. For those wishing to purchase tickets in the gardens on May 11, garden locations will be posted on this site after 6 pm on Friday, May 10.) Payment options for in-person purchases include cash or check made out to "The Reston Chorale." Debit/credit card payments may be made online.

Ticket purchase includes a self-guided tour of the gardens plus pop-up musical performances by members and friends of The Reston Chorale.

WHERE TO PURCHASE TICKETS

You may purchase Gardens of Note tickets:

  • Online via this page. Simply click on the Purchase button and complete the transaction. Credit and debit cards are accepted.
    • You will receive two emails. Be sure to print and bring the email with the subject line: "Your ticket for Gardens of Note May 11, 2024" and include the portion at the end that indicates the number of tickets you purchased. If you're unable to print your ticket, you may show the Garden Greeter the email on your phone.
  • At Chesapeake Chocolates in Lake Anne Plaza, 11426 Washington Plaza W, Reston, VA, Tuesday to Friday, noon to 5 pm and Saturday, 10 am to 2 pm.
  • In the gardens on Saturday. Garden addresses will be posted on this page after 6 pm on Friday, May 10. You may purchase tickets in any of the gardens. Tickets on Saturday will be $25 each. Cash or checks made out to "The Reston Chorale" will be accepted. For credit and debit card payments, please purchase tickets online.

Ticket holders may begin the self-guided tour in any location.

  • The garden program will be provided at the first stop, and garden greeters at each location will provide guidance.
  • The garden program serves as your ticket to additional gardens.
  • Be prepared for the elements, including appropriate footwear – rain or shine, the Gardens of Note tour is on!

Perennial Plant of the Year 2024 - Phlox Paniculata ' Jeana'PERRENIAL PLANT OF THE YEAR

You may purchase the 2024 Perennial Plant of the Year, Phlox Paniculata 'Jeana,' during the tour.* The Perennial Plant Association describes this hardy plant as "an exceptional garden phlox renowned for its impressive flower show, tall sturdy habit, and pollinator-friendliness." Jeana flourishes in full sun, growing to be 36-60" tall and 36-48" wide. Plants are $10 each. Thanks to a generous donation by Hidden Lane Residential Landscapes, 100% of the purchase price will benefit The Reston Chorale and the Reston Garden Club.

IMPORTANT TOUR REMINDERS

  • Be prepared for the elements, including wearing appropriate footwear to walk over uneven terrain and stone walkways.
  • Rain or shine, the Gardens of Note tour is on! In the event of a thunderstorm, however, please return to your vehicle until the storm passes.
  • Please: no pets (except service animals), food, beverages (except water), strollers, wheelies, skateboards, scooters, or bicycles in the gardens.
  • Children must be 10 years of age or older and accompanied by an adult.
  • All guests require a ticket, regardless of age.
  • Presently, masks and social distancing are not required. This is subject to change depending upon the status of COVID cases in late May and early June. If necessary, an update will be posted on the ticket sales site on the day of the event.
